Sandie Shaw - Puppet On A String

¿Y qué puedo decir yo de este soniquete? El Reino Unido obtuvo en 1967 su primera victoria eurovisiva con este tema compuesto por Phil Coulter y Bill Martin (autores también del Congratulations con el que Cliff Richard quedó segundo en el certamen el año siguiente... por detrás de Massiel y sus supuestos votos comprados xD) e interpretado magistralmente por Sandie Shaw (a la que no le gustaba un duro la canción).

A Sandie no le venía de nuevas esto de la fama, ella y sus pieses descalzos llevaban cosechando éxitos desde principios de la década de los sesenta. Tras el triunfo en Eurovisión expandió su fama por el mundo. Sandie grabó versiones de Puppet on a String en español, alemán, italiano y francés.

Como no pueden faltar los covers "raritos", incluímos también en esta entrada la versión que hizo la cantante malaya Sakura Teng y la castiza y guasona 'Marionetas de Pueblo' de los Chico y Chica.
